The NOPD today released a picture of the truck that a suspect was driving when the pickup hit a killed a woman on I-10.
"New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with identifying and locating a suspect wanted for a hit and run fatal traffic accident," according to a news release.
It happened shortly after midnight on May 10th.
"The victim was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 in a Nissan Altima when she had a flat tire on the High Rise over the Industrial Canal. She pulled to the far right of the roadway and activated her hazard lights before exiting her vehicle to change the tire. While outside her vehicle she was struck by the pictured white-color Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, which resulted in her death."
Detectives say the drive is "probably-male" and ran away from the scene, without even checking on the woman he just hit.
"Anyone with information regarding the accident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the Traffic Fatality Unit at 504-658-6205 or to anonymously call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111."
