St. Bernard Parish sheriff’s deputies are searching for two parents they say took their two-year-old child from state custody after the toddler suffered a possible cocaine overdose.
Arianne Stechmann and Johnathan Kritzman are wanted for obstruction of justice.
According to deputies, the child was admitted to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans late Monday night and tested positive for the narcotic. The child was intubated and placed in intensive care. Deputies say Stechmann and Kritzman kidnapped the child from the hospital on Thursday after authorities granted emergency custody to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.
Deputies say the couple is known to drive a white Dodge pickup truck. Deputies did not provide any other details about that vehicle.
