New Orleans Police say a man was held at knifepoint early this morning near the coroner of Canal Street and Convention Center Blvd.
The 34-year-old victim told investigators a man and woman robbed him shortly after 5:00am.
"Suspects armed with knife approached victim and demanded property. Female suspect patted victim down and removed gun. Suspects fled," according to an initial police report.
The report did not indicate why the victim didn't pull his gun and use it to try and defend himself.
The Metro Crime Commission says the city is closing in on 400 armed robberies this year. The rate is 25% higher than 2019 and 42% higher relative to 2021.
