A Covington man is dead after a head-on crash in St. Tammany Parish.
It happened around 10:15 a.m. Friday on LA 21 near LA 1083 in the community of Waldheim, a few miles north east of Covington and Abita Springs.
State troopers say the crash happened when Jonathan Brister veered his car across the center line and hit a pickup truck head on. According to troopers, Brister, 25, was not wearing a seat belt. EMS crews took him to a hospital, where he died.
The driver of the pickup truck suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
