Cox to complete NOLA damage assessment by Sunday

In a statement released to its customers Thursday, Cox Communications said they’ll have their Hurricane Ida damage assessment for the New Orleans area completed by Sunday, September 5.

Below is the full text of the statement (bolded statements are theirs):

Restoring your internet is a top priority and here's where we’re at:
Baton Rouge damage assessment will be completed Thursday, September 2nd.
New Orleans damage assessment will be completed by Sunday, September 5th.

Please note we've mobilized hundreds of personnel from here in Louisiana and across the country to help us get you back up and running as soon as possible.

Safety first

Please stay away from all downed power lines. If you come across one that’s ours, please report it here and we’ll repair it as quickly as possible.

What to expect if an outage occurs.

You’ll see us restoring service in your area as soon as it’s safe for our teams to work.

Because we just don’t know the extent of damage yet, we regret that we can’t provide exact times for restoration.

However, you’ll be able to find the most up-to-date information here.
