Cops say there was gunfire around 9:00am in Algiers.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 3100 block of Rue Parc Fontaine. Initial information shows an adult male gunshot wound victim who was located on scene," according to a news release.
An update Thursday afternoon from NOPD said it appears the victim was shot during an armed robbery.
The Parc Fontaine apartments were recently named in the city's "dirty dozen" of blighted properties.
There was no word on the victim's condition.
Police didn't say if they had any suspects.
