A woman is dead after a Sunday morning fire on the Northshore.
"At approximately 8:43 this morning, Mandeville Fire/EMS units responded to a report or a structure fire at the Tops’l Condominiums," the fire department posted to social media.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the roof.
"Through further investigation, a fire 6was found in one of the units. A female victim was found inside the condo and was transported to Lakeview Hospital by our FireMedics where she was declared deceased."
It happened at 303 Tops'l Dr., near the Causeway.
"The fire was quickly contained to the unit of origin and extinguished. However, there was minor smoke damage to the adjacent units."
Mandeville Fire/EMS, the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal and the Mandeville Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
