The Halloween weekend proved to be deadly for motorists in Louisiana.
According to Louisiana State Police, since Friday night, Troopers investigated 10 fatal crashes resulting in 12 deaths.
These numbers don’t include crashes investigated by local and parish law enforcement.
State police say troopers investigated fatal crashes in all patrol parishes including, Lincoln, Acadia, East Baton Rouge, Rapides, East Feliciana, DeSoto, and Tangipahoa parishes.
People who died included a pedestrian, a motorcyclist, and children. Several who died in crashes were not properly restrained says state police.
Troopers say distracted driving, impaired driving, and reckless driving as contributing factors in many of these crashes.
