A youth pastor in St. Tammany Parish find himself facing accusation of sexually abusing children.
The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office arrested 72-year-old David Mercer and booked him into the parish jail Friday as a fugitive.
Deputies also executed a search warrant on Mercer's residence, which is owned by First Baptist Church of Folsom.
Authorities say Mercer is accused of sexual abusing children in the 1990s.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are asking them to come forward to help them build their case.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone who believes they may be a victim of Mercer's, or otherwise has information that could help investigators, to call the sheriff's office at (985) 898-2338, or to their local law enforcement agency.
