Dickie Brennan is already restaurant royalty in the Big Easy. Now he’ll don a somewhat spookier crown as the king of the 2022 Krewe Of Boo.
The annual Halloween parade will also feature New Orleans hip-hop artist Kr3wcial as grand marshal.

“Krewe of BOO! has grown from a single parade into a weekend full of events. Krewe of BOO! is the official Halloween parade of New Orleans. It’s no surprise that in a city known for its love of costumes and letting the good times roll, New Orleans is the best place to celebrate Halloween,” parade founder Brian Kern said in a release.
Brennan’s day job of course is owner and managing partner of Dickie Brennan & Company. He is part of the third generation of the Brennan restaurant dynasty in New Orleans and was named to the Louisiana Restaurant Association Hall of Fame in 2011.
And as it does so often in the Crescent City, the food thread runs through Kr3wcial’s fame as well. The local rapper/producer, who emerged from the GLBL WRMNG collective, dropped his latest single this summer.
The title? “Butter My Croissant.”
The 2022 Krewe of Boo is set to feature 14 floats sporting over 500 riders and 35 marching, dancing and riding krewes, according to organizers.
The festivities roll through the Marigny, French Quarter and Central Business District this Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Elysian Fields Avenue. The route twists through the Quarter along North Peters and Decatur Street, passing Jackson Square and circling back to North Peters.
It moves back through the Quarter on Canal and Burgundy, then twists back onto Tchoupitoulas, ending in the Warehouse District on Andrew Higgins Drive.
