The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says it busted up a theft ring that had been targeting tools in the Lee Road and Million Dollar Road areas.
Area residents had reported tools stolen from outbuildings on their property, and the sheriff's office says an anonymous tip alerted them that some of the stolen items were being offered for sale on social media.
Detectives say that led them to obtaining a search warrant for a residence on Heintz Sharp Road near Covington, where they discovered $10,000 to $12,000 worth of stolen equipment.
Deputies arrested Christopher Morris, Edmond Fitzmaurice and Tiffany Majors.
The sheriff's office says they also recovered items that do not match what had previously been reported stolen, and believe there may be more victims. They are asking anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of a burglary to call Detective Morgan with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Property Crimes Division at (985) 276-1334.
