Dog bites JPSO deputy, deputy shoots dog
WWL.com

A Jefferson Parish deputy is recovering from a dog bite, and the dog is recovering from a gunshot wound.

According to our partners at WWL-TV, the sheriff's office was executing a search warrant Friday in Marrero, when a dog at the residence in the 5100 block of Mt. Rushmore Drive bit one of the deputies.

The sheriff's office says the dog charged at another deputy, so one of the deputies shot the dog.

Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Services arrived and took the dog for treatment -- it's in stable condition.

The bitten deputy was treated on the scene.
