A Slidell man is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of two brothers early Saturday morning.

Slidell police chief Randy Fandal says Mario André Scott shot and killed the men at a home on Terrace Street near Tupelo Street. Those victims have been identified by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office as Miguel Doucette, 47, and Kerry Doucette, 36. Fandal said they were brothers.

According to Fandal, investigators learned that the Doucette brothers confronted Scott about an earlier confrontation he had with their father. Fandal says Scott shot the Doucettes to death during that argument.

Fandal says authorities tracked down Scott in Jefferson Parish later in the day on Saturday. St. Tammany Parish deputies, with the assistance of Jefferson Parish sheriff’s deputies and FBI agents, arrested Scott without incident.

Scott is also facing a felon in possession of a firearm charge. If convicted on the murder charge, Scott could face the death penalty.
