NOPD says bullets were flying overnight in Central City.
"New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide," Sgt. Barry Fletcher said in an email. "Police were called to the intersection of Thalia and Barrone Streets shortly before 1:18 a.m. this morning."
He says they arrived to find one person dead after the apparent shooting.
"Responding officers found one gunshot victim onscene. They were confirmed deceased by New Orleans EMS."
Fletcher advised that another victim was hospitalized.
"They were admitted for treatment of a gunshot wound."
There was no further information released.
