Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will be king of the 2024 Krewe of Louisianans, the Washington, DC Mardi Gras event.
It is not the first time Brees has been picked to be Mardi Gras royalty. In February 2010, Brees reigned as Bacchus XLII, just days after he led the Saints to victory in Super Bowl XLIV.
"It’s an opportunity for us to showcase the great culture and tradition we share as a state with our nation’s leaders in our nation’s capital," said Brees. "It’s an absolute honor to be chosen."
The Washington Mardi Gras will be held the weekend of January 27.
Mardi Gras 2024 is February 13.
