Northshore authorites say a man has surrendered to cops after hitting a police car and driving away.
"Christopher Lozier Jr. (DOB 6-7-92) of Carriere, Miss., turned himself in to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office today (October 1). He admitted to being the driver of the 2012 gray Nissan Frontier that struck an STPSO unit on Sept. 28 while deputies were assisting State Police with a crash on I-59," Sgt. Suzanne Carboni released.
Lozier faces charges of hit and run.
“Thank you to all of our social media followers who called in with information and assisted in getting Lozier to turn himself in,” Sheriff Randy Smith said.
Police previously called on the public to help.
"A dark colored Nissan Frontier, driven by a white male with a beard and glasses appearing to be in his 20s, sideswiped a fully marked STPSO unit and fled," STPSO originally posted. "Several photos were captured of the vehicle as it passed by deputies on scene. At this time deputies have been unable to obtain a license plate number due to glare from emergency flashing lights."
