An October incident at Louis Armstrong International Airport that resulted in the capture of a “spicy” would-be smuggler has been dubiously “honored.”
Back on October 23, TSA posted on X (formerly Twitter) that a one-pound bag of crystal meth was found inside a jar of crab boil as a would-be passenger attempted to smuggle the drugs onto a plane.
“This is no way to speed through security… There was definitely something fishy about this container,” the post’s caption read.
The owner of the jar was placed under arrest.
This week, that incident was back in the news as one of TSA’s top 10 busts of the year nationwide.
The arrest that TSA ranked tops on the list was an inert IED found in an energy drink can in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
