It's almost time to vote in the presidential election, but did you know voting starts as soon as Friday. Yes, Friday October 18th begins early voting in Louisiana.
The early voting period is Oct 18th through the 29th. You can check your registration status or register to vote through October15th at geauxvote.com.
With a race that current polls predict to be very tight, election integrity becomes a hot button issue.
Louisiana Secretary of State, Nancy Landry, says the people of the state need not worry.
"We've never had widespread issues of fraud. It's never been easier to register to vote or to vote in the state of Louisiana."
Landry says the Louisiana voting system received high marks after an audit following the 2020 election.
"A nonpartisan auditor combed through that election and found we had safe and secure measures in place to ensure an election run with integrity."
