A mass drive-thru vaccination event scheduled for Tuesday, March 23 at the Alario Center, will now happen indoors due to expected severe weather on that day.
The event was supposed to be a drive-thru event but health officials are now moving the vaccinations to inside the Alario Center on Segnette Boulevard in Westwego.
The LDH and Jefferson Parish organized event will administer the Moderna vaccine.
An appointment is required, but there are appointments available at this time.
The online registration portal will remain open until all vaccine appointments are filled. Those who fall in LDH’s current phase guidelines who have not yet received a vaccine should visit covidvaccinations.jeffparish.net to make an appointment. Those who do not have access to register online can call 504-518-4020 to register via telephone.
People who get the vaccine on Tuesday will have to return to the Alario Center on April 20, for their second dose.
