Central Casting Louisiana has put out a call for extras to appear in the latest Will Smith motion picture “Emancipation.”
Filming will take place this summer with noted director Antoine Fuqua helming the production.
Apple Studio’s will be releasing the movie, which moved to Louisiana after Fuqua and Smith pulled the production from Georgia following the passage of a controversial voting bill.
The movie is about an enslaved man named Whipped Peter, who escapes from the plantation in Louisiana.
Whipped Peter was in fact a real escaped slave named Gordon who was central to exposing slavery’s brutal nature.
Whipped Peter later joined the Union Army and served in their colored troops division.
Central casting is looking for men 18-years and older to work on the production for 10 days between July 12-20.
