The National Fried Chicken Festival and Gretna Fest are among big events.
Organizer invite you to "revel on the river" in Gretna with music, food and fun.
The Gretna Fest music lineup includes Sam Hunt, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Collective Soul, Brothers Osborne and Natasha Bedingfield.
Meanwhile on the banks of Lake Pontchartrain they are celebrating the Fried Chicken Festival.
Along with dozens of restaurants serving up fried chicken; the musical lineup includes Tucka, Choppa, Lloyd, Blanco Brown and Sugarhill Gang.
On the Northshore, the St. Tammany Parish Fair continues it's 115 year tradition.

In neighboring Tangipahoa Parish, this weekend's fair dates back even further.
