The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality Sunday night in Marrero.
The Sheriff’s Office report says, “At around 11:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the area of Ames Boulevard and Bayou Estates Drive in reference to the crash. Our investigators believe the vehicle was traveling northbound on Ames Boulevard when the driver lost control, which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. The vehicle came to rest in the 2200 block of Potomac Drive after crashing into a shed and then a tree in the backyard of a residence. The residence backs up to the northbound lanes of Ames Boulevard. The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. The driver was treated by emergency services on the scene, but was unable to be resuscitated.”
It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash. The sheriff’s office has not yet released the identity of the victim.
