The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal crash in the 1700 block of Gentilly Blvd. near the Fairgrounds.
"At about 10:41 a.m., NOPD Third District officers responded to a reported vehicle crash with injury at the location," said police. "Upon arrival, officers located three injured subjects."
Police say all three were taken to the hospital, where one was pronounced dead about an hour later.
"Through further investigation, it was determined that a white Hyundai SUV driven by an adult female was heading southbound on Gentilly Boulevard when, for currently undetermined reasons, the vehicle crossed the media and entered the northbound lanes of traffic," police said. "A Ford pick-up truck occupied by an adult male driver and two passengers - one adult and one juvenile - was traveling northbound on Gentilly Boulevard at the time and collided with the Hyundai."
Police say it was the driver of the Ford who died.
The crash remains under investigation.
