NOPD says a crash left a car upside down on I-10 east near Louisa Monday morning. The vehicle caught on fire.
One person was killed.
"Initial information shows two vehicles involved in the incident, one of which has overturned. An adult female victim has been declared deceased on scene," according to a news release. "Initial notification was received at about 8:44 a.m."
The crash, investigation and clean up backed up traffic heading from downtown New Orleans to New Orleans East on both I-10 and I-610.
