Flames tore through a New Orleans home as temperature fell near freezing Monday night.
"The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) was dispatched to 2251 Baronne Street. Upon arrival, companies encountered heavy fire in a two-story dwelling," NOFD Captain Quentin Brown said in a news release.
Witnesses reported flames shooting out of the back of the home.
"Fire crews entered the structure and initiated fire suppression operations, searching for any additional occupants. A second alarm was struck to provide additional staffing."
Brown says there had been a pair of people in the house.
"It was determined that two occupants had left the dwelling before the arrival of the fire companies, and no other individuals were inside. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters during the incident, and the fire is under investigation."
It took crews nearly an hour and a half to get the blaze under control.
