A vehicle fire on Interstate 10 Friday morning stopped all traffic from LaPlace toward Kenner.
Crews closed both lanes of I-10 East as they battled the blaze and cleaned the debris.
Traffic backed up to LaPlace from just before 10:00am. Authorities said they hoped to have the roadway reopen by 11:00am, but were only letting traffic pass on the shoulder by then.
It was 11:40 before all lanes were open again.
