If you are going out for Mother's Day, you better already have made reservations. This is the first Mother's Day since the pandemic began with no restrictions: no mask requirements, no capacity limits, not even proof-of-vaccination.
"Things are booked, they've been booked, and as everyone knows by this point, restaurants are wide open," Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate restaurant reports Ian McNulty told WWL's Tommy Tucker.
But many restaurants are still dealing with staffing shortages, supply shortages, and inflation, so actually operating at full capacity is another matter.
"I don't think a single restaurant is, maybe a few here and there," said McNulty. "The vast majority are not, and so most are limiting their reservations."
McNulty recommends getting creative, and instead of the usual champagne brunch spot, check more out of the way places, or maybe cook for mom, and stay home.
