A 15-year-old student from Fontainebleau High School was arrested Thursday evening after bringing a weapon to the school campus according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
A school administrator alerted the sheriff’s office after they discovered the student brought a weapon to campus. The sheriff’s office didn’t clarify what type of weapon the student allegedly brought to campus.
The student was arrested and booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of Terrorizing.
“We have made it very clear that threats like this will be taken seriously,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “We will continue to work with our schools and investigate any and all threats at our schools or to the students and faculty who attend them.”
The investigation remains ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
