A Lacombe four year old told the teaching assistant someone smeared feces on a bathroom wall at school.
She was handed a baby wipe and told to go clean it up.
Despite pleas that she was not the one who did it, she still had to perform the cleaning duty per the teaching assistant.
The incident occurred in early March at Chahta-Ima Elementary in St. Tammany Parish.
The four year old’s mother Darcel Williams says her daughter was sent home from school with a note saying she had smeared the feces in a bathroom stall.
The daughter insisted she only told the teaching assistant about it and didn’t do it.
Williams says her daughter is fully potty trained.
According to WWL-TV the girl’s family met with school officials, teaching assistant, teacher to clarify the situation.
School administrators admitted a mistake was made and said it wouldn’t happen again.
Disciplinary measures have been taken against the teaching assistant as well.
Meanwhile the little girl is going to a new school, since the child said they wouldn’t go back out of fear of having to clean a bathroom wall again.
"Nobody’s child should be touching feces, especially without a glove and you have a paid janitor here during the day, I just don’t want a parent or another child to have to go through this,” Darcell Williams stated.
