The French Quarter Festival announced its music lineup Tuesday for this spring's event, April 16-19 in the newly-expanded Woldenberg Riverfront Park.
Performers include returning favorites Irma Thomas, Cyril Neville, Big Freedia, Kermit Ruffins, and a whole lot more.
Woldenberg Park recently finished an expansion all the way to the Gov. Nicholls Street wharf, and the festival is taking advantage of that expanded real estate.
"Expanding access to the riverfront from Crescent Park offers locals and visitors an unmatched view of the Mississippi River," said Michael J. Sawaya, chief executive officer of Audubon Nature Institute, which manages the park. "We look forward to partnering with French Quarter Festival to introduce this beautiful park to the community."
The festival remains free to attend, but VIP family passes are available. Those passes include exclusive access to air-conditioned restrooms, shaded seating, and exclusive bars with three complimentary drinks per day.
