Flames erupted in a French Quarter home this morning.
"At 8:41 a.m. the New Orleans Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a residential fire with possible persons trapped in the 700 block of Barracks St.," Operator Greg Davis said in a news release.
Crews found two women inside the burning home. One of them is more than 100 years old.
"A 104yr old wheelchair-bound female resident suffered smoke inhalation and received what was described as second degree burns to her hands and knees."
Davis said the 104-year-old woman also singed in the fire.
"A second elderly female suffered smoke inhalation."
Both were transported to a hospital.

"The cause of the fire is currently under investigation."
The blaze erupted in a room in the center of the home.
"The fire... damaged most of the home."
Crews kept it from spreading to the adjacent homes.
There were 26 NOFD personnel on the scene.
