With Memorial Day behind us, we're now settling into the summer travel season. Compared to last year, road trips should be a lot less painful.
"Last year, mid-June, we were at the historic high of $4.56 a gallon," said Don Redman of AAA Louisiana. "I don't foresee anything like that this year."
Redman says this summer, they're thinking around a dollar to a buck and a quarter per gallon less.
"I think we could be looking at potentially three dollars a gallon gasoline, but I would budget about three and a quarter, just to give myself a little cushion," he said. "This of course is barring any major disruptions, and they talk about hurricanes and everything else."
And he says that will fuel a lot of travel this summer.
