People at home no longer need to get off the couch to enjoy their favorite alcoholic cocktail from their favorite bar or restaurant.
Today, Governor John Bel Edwards signed 28 bills into law. One of those bills signed into law is House Bill 219, which allows the delivery of ready-to-drink cocktails made by local bars and restaurants.
A previous bill allowing the delivery of pre-packaged alcoholic beverages in sealed manufactured packaging was signed into law in 2019.
Today’s signing paves the way for local restaurants to expand their alcohol sales as more people are staying home to drink because of the ongoing pandemic.
