The granddaughter of the late Tom Benson is accused of shoving a parking enforcement officer in Charleston, South Carolina this week.
Charleston news media reports Rita Leblanc was booked Monday on charges of assault and hindering an officer/city employee.
The report says she took the officer's tool used for locking a parking boot as the officer was trying to immobilize a vehicle.
Leblanc was later released on a personal recognizance bond.
Leblanc was at one point in line to inherit the New Orleans Saints, before Benson changed his succession plans to install his wife, Gayle Benson, as team owner.
The change led to a bitter legal dispute in which Leblanc sought to have Tom Benson declared mentally incompetent, and accused Gayle Benson of manipulating him.
The lawsuit failed and Gayle Benson took ownership of the NFL team and the NBA New Orleans Pelicans when Tom Benson died in 2018.
