New Orleans Greek Fest will go on rain or shine this weekend, returning for the 51st consecutive year to highlight New Orleans's Greek Culture.
The rain, however, is forcing festival organizations to postpone the start of Friday night's festivities. Events along Bayou St. John will now begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at midnight. Festival officials say they've placed tarps over vendor stands to keep rain out of those areas.
Saturday's events are scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., while Sunday's schedule runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The festival's theme this year is "Your Odyssey Begins Here." The festival will feature Greek food, music, and art as well as tours of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
All of the festival's events will take place on the cathedral's grounds on Allen Toussaint Boulevard.
