St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies are searching for the person who shot a man late Saturday night in Hahnville.
That shooting happened around 10:10 p.m. on Smith Street.
Deputies say the victim was speaking to his girlfriend when someone driving by shot him and sped off towards LA 3160. A bystander performed life-saving measures and took the victim to the hospital. The victim remains in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say when they arrived, they found shell casings in the street. They also discovered that bullets struck a car and a nearby home.
