LSU Health New Orleans’ Chancellor’s 15-year run atop one of the city’s premier research and teaching institutions is over. LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans announced Thursday Dr. Larry Hollier would be vacating his post immediately.

This comes after an LSU audit of the facility identified a number of questionable practices under the Hollier Administration. The findings alleged Hollier attempted to give his friends pay raises, create new positions for those friend’s family members, underpaid women, and did not follow university procedure when firing employees.

Last month when the audit was released Hollier fiercely defended himself. Nola.com reports he attacked the audit, calling it “untrustworthy”, “misleading”, and “replete with errors”, among other comments.

The Crowley native’s contract was set to expire by the end of the year.
