A few days of rain are coming our way, courtesy, in part, from a Pacific Ocean hurricane.
It starts with Hurricane Polo which made landfall in Mexico this week.
"Remnants from this hurricane are going to be tracking in from the Pacific Ocean across Mexico and into the eastern United States," said LSU Health New Orleans climatologist Barry Keim.
Keim says that will mix with high-level moisture in a low pressure system over the Great Plains.
"And this it's going to track across the eastern United States and a cold front affiliated with the system is going to sweep right across Louisiana," Keim said.
Keim says it could dump a lot of rain over short periods, and last through the weekend, so folks need to be on the lookout for potential flash-flooding.
Atlantic hurricane season may be slow, but New Orleans will feel affects of Pacific storm
