The city of New Orleans has given drivers permission to park on neutral grounds through 6 p.m. as heavy rain prompted a flash-flood warning Friday afternoon.
The National Weather Service said scattered thunderstorms could drop one to two inches of rain in a short time.
The flood warning expires after 3 p.m.
The weather has also brought high winds across Lake Pontchartrain. Because of that, the Causeway Commission has restricted traffic. RVs, motorcycles, and trucks hauling glass are prohibited from crossing the bridge at this time.
