We finally have a day where most of the metro area will stay below 80 degrees!

"Only going to be in the upper 70s for highs, absolutely beautiful day," says National Weather Service forecast Phil Grigsby.

Grigsby says after the coolest afternoon we've had all season, we're in for another cool night.

"Lows in the low 60s south of the lake, and into the lower 50s again across the river parishes and the Northshore," he said.

But don't expect any more afternoon highs this week in the 70s.

"Tuesday,we'll be getting back up into the...80s," said Grigsby.

WWL TV Meteorologist Alexa Trischler says we get back to 87 for Tuesday.

However, she says things feel better Wednesday and Thursday.

"Another cold front midweek will reinforce the cooler and drier air."

Back to 85 for Friday and muggy this weekend with rain chances.

Going over the long-range forecast, with Halloween coming up a week from Friday, what can we expect?

"It looks like we'll continue to see average to maybe slightly above average temperatures all the way through the end of the month," Grigsby said.
