Slightly less humid air remains over the area today. A mix of sun and clouds through the afternoon with highs in the middle 80s. An upper-level low over the northeastern Gulf will continue to enhance the rain coverage today. Isolated downpours are expected with the stronger thunderstorms.

Showers and storms may last through evening hours in a few locations under partly cloudy skies.


The weekend looks fine. Scattered clouds and storms through the weekend. Hit or miss with highs in the upper 80s.

Next week, a cool front is expected to move through the area not really brining cooler air but it will bring less humid air to the area.

Earl continues to grow larger, but not strengthening as yet.
The NHC latest forecast track shows Earl staying a category 2 hurricane through the Saturday then eventually dissipating into a low pressure next week. Models are picking up on another central Atlantic tropical wave (Invest 95) to possibly develop in the coming days, but it too should remain out to sea.

Although satellite confirming all storms are well displaced from the center, so it continues to struggle. So far the season remains below average and let's hope that continues!
