We are in the thick of the Christmas season and New Orleans is decked out as the city is doing a lot of entertaining for the holidays.
The city is in the midst of the Holidays, New Orleans style.
"There are réveillon dinners, caroling in the square, lots of shopping options, and then special Papa Noel hotel rates that our hotels are hosting," said Kelly Schulz with New Orleans & Company.
Schulz says the city is on a roll, having just made international healdlines hosting a visit from French President Emmanuel Macron, and last weekend's successful downtown holiday parade. And the city is also hosting a major convention of tens of thousands of hematologists from all over the world.
"In addition to the fun holiday leisure events, there's a lot of people coming to the city to do business, to celebrate culture," she said.
The Running of the Santas is this weekend in the Warehouse District. Across the lake, you can celebrate Christmas in Covington at the Covington Trailhead and catch the Covington Christmas parade. There's a boat parade and "Lights on the Lake" in West End Saturday, and this weekend is the Festival of the Bonfires along the river levee in St. James Parish.
