“It didn't turn out so well for Miss Willis,” said WWL’s Newell Normand of the testimony delivered this week by Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis.

Willis brought charges against former President Donald Trump in one of four indictments he faced last year. In Georgia, Willis’ charges against Trump included alleged violations of the RICO act.

Then, Willis faced her own scandal in the form of allegations that she had an affair with prosecutor Nathan Wade. Motions were filed to dismiss her from the case, and people were left with questions about Wade’s qualifications to prosecute the case.

An evidentiary hearing on motions was held this week, and Willis was present to give testimony, per CNN.

“It was horrible. It was terrible,” said Normand of Willis’ testimony. He predicts that both she and Wade will face “trouble with the bar association,” going forward.

While the hearing has concluded, CNN said defense attorneys will likely return over the next few weeks to discuss outstanding issues. Normand called the situation a mess.

“A mess of epic proportions,” he declared. Listen here for his full analysis.
