A 56-year-old Houma man faces charges of sexually abusing a minor.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's office says last month, a local high school notified them that a student reported the abuse by James Bogen Jr.

The sheriff's office says the victim provided "specific and credible details describing multiple incidents of abuser that occurred over several months."

Special Victim's Unit detectives took over the case, and during their investigation, say they uncovered a second victim.

"Detectives believe that there may be additional victims and are continuing to pursue all leads," the sheriff's office said.

Deputies arrested Bogen on Monday afternoon without incident.

"As always, we ask for patience and privacy for the victims and family," said Sheriff Tim Soignet. "Our Detectives are working diligently to bring this case to resolution and hold a dangerous offender accountable."
