Many parents complain that it is getting harder to find reliable and trustworthy child care, babysitting and someone to watch children in a pinch.
One local group is trying to help.
New Orleans Mom is a locally curated resource for new parents who may not know where to begin when it comes to finding child care and more.
"We just want to make sure that parents that may not have (resources)... they are always available with New Orleans Mom," Angelina Vicknair with neworleansmom.com told WWL First News.
Local moderators and contributors all combine to ensure quality control for the recommendations on the site, and Vicknair says the entire focus of the website is providing parents with the support they need.
A network of recommended and crowd-sourced caregivers isn't the only service New Orleans Mom offers assistance with, and the site has information on an array of topics that may interest parents.
Vicknair says moderators research all input to verify complaints and calls it a true community effort.
She also suggests those in need of assistance or resources join the New Orleans Mom Facebook group.
The forum there has a different assortment of topics and input from users that many could also find useful.
