Have you made a pledge this month to stay dry?
In this case, “dry” doesn’t mean physically getting wet. (Please… don’t abstain from bathing for a month.)
Rather, millions of people in the U.S. have jumped on the “Dry January” trend, a movement that means going the whole month without drinking alcohol, and studies are showing that such a fast could have real health benefits.
According to a survey conducted by the University of Sussex, Dry January participants in 2018 reported improved sleep (71%), weight loss (58%), improvement in the condition of their skin (54%) and more energy (67%).
Results were compiled from self-admitted “regular drinkers” who went 30 days without alcohol in January 2018.
