Authorities in Tangipahoa Parish are investigating the discovery of human remains near Ponchatoula.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said the discovery was made in a wooded area in the 40000 block of River Road, off of Highway 22.
The cause and manner of death, and the identity of the remains are pending.
The sheriff's office said it will release more information as it become available.
