The National Hurricane Center is watching three systems in the Atlantic Basin.
The first is in the central area of the Atlantic and is moving toward the Lesser Antilles—it should get there sometime next week.
Development into anything other than a minor tropical depression isn’t expected as it will run into a pocket of drier air and stall out.
The second is a small well defined area that has a small chance of developing over the next couple of days.
The Hurricane Center says it is unlikely the disturbance will develop into anything that could affect the United States.
The third is headed south of Cabo Verde Islands and is likely to run head on into an area of wind shear.
The wind shear will also do its job of cutting down the tropical wave.
In the meantime, there are no tropical developments in the Gulf of Mexico or anywhere near the Gulf Coast that could develop through the first weeks of August.
