An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer is in the St. Tammany Parish Jail after deputies say he broke into his ex-girlfriend's home.
Thomas Bailey, 58, was booked on an unauthorized entry into an inhabited dwelling charge. Authorities say his ex-girlfriend was not home at the time of the incident.
Authorities say Bailey is employed at the ICE office in Oakdale.
“Regardless of where you work or what position you hold, the law applies equally to everyone,” Sheriff Bret Ibert said in a statement. “When someone enters another person’s residence without permission, we are going to investigate the circumstances and take the appropriate action based on the facts of the case.”
