St. Tammany Parish is known for its low crime rates, and in 2025, the sheriff's office says crime fell even lower.
According to the sheriff's office, major crimes that the parish reported Louisiana Incident-Based Reporting System reached its lowest level in the past five years.
At the same time, the number of cases solved by their detectives reached an all-time high.
"A decrease in crime and strong clearance rates don’t happen by chance," said Sheriff Randy Smith. "They are the result of our deputies working hand-in-hand with the community every day to prevent crime, hold offenders accountable, and protect the quality of life in St. Tammany Parish."
The parish reported 80 fewer violent crimes in 2025 and 429 fewer non-violent crimes.
